U.S. House Approves Rep. Langevin’s Amendment to Raise Funding for Lifespan Respite to $10 M in the FY 2020 Labor-HHS-Education Spending Bill

Per the National Respite Coalition:

“Late last evening, the House passed an important amendment to the FY 2020 Labor-Health and Human Services-Education (Labor-H) spending bill (H.R. 2740). The amendment, offered by our long-standing champion, Rep. Jim Langevin, raises funding to $10 million for the Lifespan Respite Care Program. The recorded vote on the amendment was 356 in favor to 67 opposed. The Labor-H spending bill also includes increased funding for the National Family Caregiver Support Program and other programs critically important to children and adults with disabilities, older adults and their family caregivers. Debate will continue on the mini-omnibus spending bill on Friday, June 14.”
